The 2024 Olympic Games delivered Remco Evenepoel both the road race and the time trial title, a double that captures what makes him awkward to plan against: he can win alone on a climb and beat the field against the clock. Belgium's 26-year-old has built that range into a career of 46 professional wins.
He turned professional with Soudal Quick-Step in 2019 after junior years at Forte Young CT and Acrog-Tormans. The Vuelta a España overall title and the world road race championship arrived in 2022, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège has gone his way twice. After a final season with Quick-Step in 2025 he joined Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe for 2026, carrying a general classification brief alongside his time trial and classics work.
