Pierre Gasly has made 192 Formula One starts, and his only win in them came at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, with five podium finishes alongside it. The profile is that of a French driver who has spent most of his career outside the quickest cars, and Alpine, his current team, still gives him a seat each season.
Scuderia Toro Rosso handed him a debut at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix, and the early years were spent at that Italian team. A promotion to Red Bull did not hold, and he went back to the squad that had introduced him, before Alpine signed him for 2023.
