Price converted West Brom’s first-half pressure
The home side carried the greater threat before the break. Jack Stephens fouled Rabby Nzingoula inside the area, and Price sent the resulting penalty into the top-right corner in the 22nd minute.

Southampton struggled to create a clear response and were fortunate to reach half-time only one goal behind. Daniel Peretz made important saves while West Brom continued to find space around the edge of the box.
Edozie changed the match after the interval
Southampton returned with more purpose and equalised in the 53rd minute. Ryan Manning crossed, Kuryu Matsuki’s header was blocked and Edozie finished from close range.
The goal gave the visitors a more reliable route into the match. Their possession became quicker, and West Brom could no longer press forward with the same freedom as they had before the break.
Both goalkeepers protected the point
The fixture took place on 3 November. Max O’Leary denied Lewis Dobbin when Southampton had an opportunity to complete the comeback, while Peretz stopped Aune Heggebo from close range late in the match.
A 1-1 draw reflects the change in control across the two halves. West Brom will regret not extending their early advantage, while Southampton can take value from a much sharper response after the interval.
