Vayu lead the 52 SUPER SERIES Valencia Sailing Week by one point after four races, while Platoon Aviation hold a 12-point lead over Sled in the 2026 title contest after gaining one point during the event. The Thai-flagged Whitcraft family team ended the second day on 17 points, ahead of Platoon Aviation on 18, with Alkedo Cetilar and Sled tied on 19 after day two of the final regatta off Valencia.
The positions leave little margin in the immediate event battle. Just two points cover the top four boats after racing in 9-12-knot offshore winds off Malvarrosa Beach, and Vayu’s scoreline of 8-2-5-2 has put them narrowly ahead through consistency rather than a race win.
Platoon Aviation were the strongest-scoring boat across the two day-two windward-leeward races, posting a first and fifth. The first and fifth gave Platoon Aviation a net one-point gain on Sled from the start of the event, leaving Platoon 12 points ahead in the season standings, even though Sled remain level with Alkedo Cetilar in the regatta.
The standings make the distinction clear: Vayu’s advantage concerns the Valencia regatta, while Platoon Aviation’s 12-point margin is the season calculation from 189 points against Sled’s 201.

The result means the German team’s title position has improved, but only marginally. With three days of racing remaining in the 2026 season, Platoon Aviation held a 12-point lead over Sled with three days of the season’s racing remaining, according to the day-two report.
Vayu’s steady opening creates a narrow lead
Vayu began the event with an eighth place but followed it with second, fifth and second. That sequence has produced 17 points and first place overall, one point clear of Platoon Aviation. The report said Vayu had made good starts and regularly featured at the first mark, an approach that has kept the team near the front despite not yet winning a race.
Platoon Aviation’s day began with victory in the first of Wednesday’s races before fifth in the next. Their 6-6-1-5 record places them second in Valencia and keeps them in the strongest position in the season-long contest. The team’s tactician, Vasco Vascotto, said the second race had included a tactical mistake after Platoon had led early, with the boat losing several places in shifting conditions.
That detail helps explain why the two standings are so close. Platoon were the top daily scorers, but their fifth left Vayu one point ahead in the regatta. A single place in one race separates the leading two teams after four races.

| Position | Boat | Points after four races |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Vayu | 17 |
| 2 | Platoon Aviation | 18 |

Platoon gain slightly on Sled in season race
After day two, Platoon Aviation led the circuit standings on 189 points, with Sled on 201. After four races in Valencia, Platoon had made a net gain of one point against Sled, extending their championship margin to 12 points.
That comparison is more significant than the Valencia order alone. Sled are fourth in the event, level on 19 points with Alkedo Cetilar, and are second to Platoon Aviation in the circuit standings. Platoon’s first and fifth produced a net one-point gain on Sled, leaving the season standings at 189 points to 201 after day two.
Alkedo Cetilar’s win in the second race of the day also strengthened their hold on third for the season. They stand on 236 points, while Trinity Racing and Paprec are level on 252. The 16-point difference means Alkedo have a useful buffer in that particular contest, and three days of the 2026 season’s racing remained, according to the day-two report.
For the British entries, Tony Langley’s Gladiator are 10th in Valencia on 40 points after finishes of third, 13th, 15th and ninth. Andy Soriano’s Alegre are 14th on 48 points with a 13-12-10-13 sequence. They were among the 16 boats listed in the standings after four races; racing was scheduled to continue on Thursday.
With three days of racing remaining, Vayu’s one-point regatta lead and Platoon Aviation’s 12-point season advantage remained subject to further racing.
