Illes Balears Palma Futsal host O Parrulo Ferrol on Friday at 19:30 in the fifth round of the Liga Prime Futsal Torneo Apertura, with a victory offering Palma a fifth successive win and 15 points from 15. The leaders begin the home fixture with a perfect four-match record, but O Parrulo arrive fifth and have already shown enough across their opening programme to make the contest a significant test of Palma’s early pace.
Palma’s club said a win at Son Moix would produce the best start in its top-flight history, taking the side to a full 15-point return after five rounds for the first time. That possibility is based on four victories already secured: away wins over Catgas Energía and Magna Xota, a home victory against ElPozo Murcia, and last weekend’s 4-3 comeback over Servigroup Peñíscola.
The recovery against Peñíscola provides the most useful guide to the resilience Palma will want to carry into this match. Antonio Vadillo’s team fell 2-0 behind before overturning the deficit, meaning their winning sequence has not depended solely on comfortable starts. Palma’s coach said the episode also showed that results can be achieved when a side is not at its best, while stressing that his players must improve on that previous home performance.

Palma’s perfect start meets a fifth-placed visitor
The primary Liga Prime Futsal preview said Palma and Jaén Paraíso Interior were the two sides taking perfect records into the weekend. It also said the immediate objective behind Palma’s results was to strengthen their position in the race for direct Copa de España qualification, for which the first six teams in the relevant table qualify.
The league preview also described Palma as the competition’s highest-scoring team, although it said O Parrulo’s fifth-place standing changed the complexion of the visit.
That makes the points available more than a simple early-season marker. The Apertura is scheduled over 15 rounds, as Palma player David Peña noted in the club’s preview, so a five-win start would represent one third of the competition completed with no dropped points. It would also leave Palma on 15 points, while O Parrulo currently have eight from one additional match.
O Parrulo’s position nevertheless gives the visitors a credible platform. Their eight-point total has been built from a 6-4 win over Manzanares, a 5-5 draw with Catgas Energía and a 3-4 away victory at Zaragoza. They also lost 6-1 away to Barça in an advanced seventh-round match before drawing 0-0 with Valdepeñas.
Those results explain why the fixture should not be assessed simply as leaders against a mid-table opponent. O Parrulo are fifth despite having played five games, and have taken points in four of them. Palma will have played fewer fixtures, so victory would preserve their maximum return rather than settle the wider standings on its own.

Vadillo calls for sharper home display
Vadillo described O Parrulo as a serious, compact side which gives opponents little away, attributing that character to the work of their coach Gerard Casas. He said Palma would need a strong performance to keep the points at home and warned against allowing confidence from the four wins to turn into an assumption that the next result would follow automatically.
The recent meetings in Mallorca also support that caution. Palma’s club said last season’s fixture at Son Moix finished 2-2. The three cited home meetings produced a draw and two Palma wins, by 4-2 and 3-2.
Peña similarly said that the short format made every result valuable, arguing that a sustained winning run could create a gap that rivals would need several matches to close. His point is supported by the arithmetic of Palma’s start: three more points would move them from 12 to 15, while O Parrulo could not reach that total in this fixture.
For Palma, then, the immediate task is clear: maintain the winning record while producing a more controlled display than in the Peñíscola comeback. For O Parrulo, a positive result would add to their eight-point total and preserve or improve their position near the top of the early table, while Palma could turn their opening five matches into the club’s best top-flight start, according to Palma.
