Illes Balears Palma Futsal have made their best start to a top-flight season after beating O Parrulo Ferrol 7-3 in the fifth round of Liga Prime Futsal’s Torneo Apertura. Palma’s fifth successive victory took them to 15 points from 15 before the international break, although Jaén Paraíso Interior have matched that perfect return and remain level with them at the summit.

The scoreline at Son Moix eventually looked comfortable, but Palma had not shaken off O Parrulo by half-time. The hosts led 3-2 at the interval after a frenetic closing spell in which both sides scored, leaving the contest open despite Palma having moved two goals ahead earlier in the half.

Piqueras opened the scoring in the sixth minute, and Alisson Neves made it 2-0 three minutes later. O Parrulo responded through Malaguti in the 15th minute, but Ernesto restored Palma’s two-goal advantage in the 19th. Novoa then struck just before the break to reduce the deficit to one goal.

The club reported that David Peña created Alisson Neves’s finish, while Novoa provided an assist as well as scoring for O Parrulo. It also said Ernesto had prevented an equaliser on the line before scoring at the other end, a sequence which restored Palma’s two-goal advantage before Novoa’s reply.

Second-half spell turns a tight game

Palma found the separation after the restart. Júlio Zanotto scored in the 24th minute, his first goal of the campaign according to the club, before Lucão added a fifth in the 29th. Diego Nunes scored two minutes later as the home side turned a one-goal half-time lead into a four-goal margin.

O Parrulo then used Novoa as a flying goalkeeper in an attempt to change the match. Palma punished the risk when Fabinho scored into the unguarded goal following a pass from Dennis. Rikelme replied with an individual effort for the visitors in the 35th minute, but the final result did not alter Palma’s five-match winning sequence. Palma’s report placed Fabinho’s goal in the 34th minute, one minute before Rikelme’s response.

The scoring sequence helps explain why the result carries more weight than a routine win. Palma had been ahead 2-0, then were only one goal clear at the break, before scoring three times between the 24th and 31st minutes. That seven-minute stretch changed the contest from a close encounter into a result Palma could manage through its closing stages.

Record return, but no clear space at the top

Palma said the victory marked the first time the club had collected 15 points from its first five games in the highest division. The calculation is straightforward: five wins at three points each have produced the full 15-point return.

That record has established Palma as one of the two unbeaten teams at the head of the Apertura. Liga Prime Futsal reported that Jaén also continued their flawless opening by beating Sur Seeds El Ejido 3-2, leaving the two sides level on points after five rounds. Palma therefore have the achievement of a club-best opening, but not a points cushion over their nearest rival.

Jaén’s route to the matching total was different from Palma’s. Liga Prime Futsal said they were 3-0 ahead at half-time, with Espíndola, João Salla and Lemine scoring, before Sur Seeds reduced the deficit 30 seconds after the restart through Cristian Rubio. A. Báez then made it 3-2 with little time remaining. Jaén held on, so the fifth round maintained an exact points tie rather than giving Palma room at the summit. Palma’s club record is consequently a benchmark for their own history, not yet a standalone lead.

Liga Prime Futsal described Palma as the competition’s most in-form team by points and goals.

For O Parrulo, Novoa’s goal and assist kept the visitors competitive during the first half, while the final 7-3 score reflected Palma’s greater efficiency after the interval rather than an uninterrupted home procession. The club also described goalkeeper Dennis as decisive in one-on-one situations as the home team increased its tempo after the restart.
