Athletic Club dates from 18 July 1898 and plays La Liga football at Estadio San Mamés, where the capacity reaches 53,289. The honours list does the talking: eight league titles, the last of them in 1983-84, and twenty-four Copa del Rey wins, most recently in 2023-24. Add three Supercopa de España, one Copa Eva Duarte, five Campeonato Regional del Norte and twelve Campeonato Regional de Vizcaya.

Edin Terzić runs the coaching side and Jon Uriarte serves as president, with Ibaigane Palace as the club's base in Spain. Forward Nico Williams counts among the current squad.
