ETTU agrees Dyn coverage deal to 2028

The European Table Tennis Union has agreed a media-rights partnership with Dyn that will run through 2028 and cover leading European competitions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

ETTU said Dyn had acquired exclusive live rights in Germany, while its rights in Austria and Switzerland were non-exclusive. The agreement includes the European Individual Championships, European Team Championships, Europe Top 16 Cup and selected stages of the ETTU Champions League.

The first event under the arrangement will be the European Individual Championships at Arena Stožice in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 11 to 18 October. The tournament will include men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

ETTU president Pedro Moura said the deal formed part of the governing body’s strategy to make European table tennis more visible and accessible in important markets. He said the partnership was intended to give more supporters the opportunity to follow major events and the stories around the competitions.

Ljubljana championships open the partnership

Dyn’s initial coverage plan for the European Individual Championships includes a multi-camera production. ETTU said Table 1 would be covered by seven cameras and Table 2 by four.

At the European Individual Championships, European Team Championships and Europe Top 16 Cup, Dyn will show matches involving German players and teams. ETTU said the broadcaster could also add selected leading matches in which German players or teams are not involved.

That arrangement gives the package a defined domestic focus in Germany while retaining scope for wider coverage of prominent matches at ETTU events. The rights are exclusive in Germany, whereas the agreement in Austria and Switzerland sits alongside non-exclusive rights.

For the competitions themselves, the agreement secures a named outlet across three markets through 2028. Its scope spans individual, national-team and club events, rather than being restricted to a single championship or season.

Programme continues through 2027 and 2028

ETTU has set out a substantial 2027 schedule within the partnership. The Europe Top 16 Cup is due to take place in Montreux, Switzerland, from 28 to 31 January.

The 2026-27 ETTU HYLO Champions League Men quarter-finals are scheduled over two legs on 12-13 January and 5-6 March. The club calendar then reaches its concluding stages in May, when the ETTU Champions League Women Final 4 is due to be held on 1-2 May, followed by the ETTU HYLO Champions League Men Final 4 in Saarbrücken, Germany, on 8-9 May.

Later in 2027, Porto, Portugal, is scheduled to host the European Team Championships Final Stage from 17 to 24 October. ETTU said 24 men’s national teams and 24 women’s national teams would compete for the European titles.

The agreement also extends into 2028, covering the Europe Top 16 Cup and the ETTU Champions League Men Final 4. Dyn chief operating officer Marcel Wontorra said the company wanted its coverage to encompass major matches as well as the people and stories surrounding table tennis.

ETTU said the Dyn agreement was part of a broader approach to expanding distribution of elite European table tennis through broadcast and digital partners. The federation also said it had renewed a media partnership with L’Équipe in France through 2028, although the Dyn arrangement specifically concerns Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
