Gavi took the shortest possible route from the Barcelona academy to the first team, arriving in 2021 and claiming the number six shirt as a central midfielder. A Kopa Trophy followed, recognition of how quickly a teenager had become a fixture in Spain's midfield. He has since accumulated 118 club appearances and six goals, a return that reflects a player valued for control and energy rather than finishing. In the 2025/26 season he is part of the Barcelona squad competing in La Liga. For Spain he is a regular presence in midfield, trusted in the senior side despite his age.
