Who is Morant
Ja Morant's draft night arrived in 2019, when Memphis took him second overall and handed a point guard out of Murray State the keys to an NBA franchise. Murray State is where the foundation was laid: the Racers ran their offence through him, he left as the national leader in assists and a consensus first-team All-American, and the programme has since retired his jersey. Recognition came quickly once he turned professional. Rookie of the Year honours arrived first, then the Most Improved Player award, and he has been an All-Star twice. The American guard now plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, still operating at the point, and has reached the stage where early promise has become a substantial NBA career with plenty of it left to run.
