England cannot face three familiar rivals
Norway, the Netherlands and Italy join England in Pot 2, so none can be placed in the same group as the Lionesses. Every League A group will contain one team from each of four pots.

England will therefore draw one leading side from Germany, Spain, Denmark or France. That first selection will establish the level of the main contest for top position.
Only Switzerland or Portugal can come from Pot 4
The third pot contains the Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Iceland and Austria. Pot 4 contains Switzerland, Portugal, Scotland and Wales, but Olympic qualification rules prevent England from being drawn with Scotland or Wales.
England will therefore face either Switzerland or Portugal from the fourth pot. The restriction applies because the Nations League also determines European places at the 2028 Olympic tournament.
The draw begins at midday
The ceremony takes place in Nyon from 12:00 GMT on 3 November and will be shown by UEFA. England remain in League A after finishing the previous cycle among the leading European teams.
The six group matches will be played across the February-March, April and June 2027 international windows. That schedule gives Sarina Wiegman time to prepare separately for each pair of fixtures.
Group winners reach the semi-finals and secure Olympic places
The four League A group winners advance to two-legged Nations League semi-finals. They also qualify for the 2028 Olympic women’s football tournament, subject to FIFA eligibility rules.
England enter the draw after beating Greece 8-1 on aggregate. Their next immediate task is a play-off against Ukraine before attention turns fully to the 2027 campaign.
