Kane scored 73 goals for club and country

Kane scored 61 times for Bayern Munich and 12 for England across the 2025-26 season. Bayern won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, while England finished third at the World Cup. The combination of individual output and team results separated him from the rest of the shortlist.

The ceremony took place at the London Palladium on 26 October. Kane joins Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Michael Owen as an English winner of the men’s award.

Kane also connected attacks for Bayern and England

Kane’s contribution went beyond scoring. He dropped into midfield to connect attacks, created space for teammates and remained the main target when Bayern or England needed to move the ball forward.

He also received his second Gerd Muller Trophy. Kane shared the 2024 award with Kylian Mbappe and won the 2026 edition after his 73-goal season.

Other England players also received recognition

Jude Bellingham finished 11th and Declan Rice 15th in the men’s ranking. Alessia Russo reached the women’s top ten and Alex Greenwood placed 26th.

The England footballer Bukayo Saka received the Socrates Award for humanitarian work. His award was separate from the men’s Ballon d’Or ranking and recognised his work away from football.
